Festival Volunteer Call Out

ELLIEFEST, our biennial festival-themed fun day is back for a second year in 2024.
Taking place on Saturday 13 July 2024 at Clapham and Patching Village Hall and grounds. We need your help to transform the site with live music and fun-filled activities.

We are so grateful for the 60+ volunteers who supported the inaugural ELLIEFEST in 2022 and invite you to join us in 2024.

We want to hear from people who can offer support in the following areas:

  • Event Assistants – Are you a budding events planner and want to join our event planning
team to help create the best ELLIEFEST yet? We need people who can commit to attending a
once-a-month team meeting on Zoom and give time to support one of our project areas
    (comms/live music/activities/hospitality) between January and July 2024.
  • Social Media Natives – Can you help us to create a buzz about ELLIEFEST? We need support
for our communications campaign in the lead-up to the event. Under the direction of and
with support from our Head of Communications, Katie, you will share agreed messaging,
schedule content, reply to enquiries and generally create momentum about the event
    across social platforms.
  • Logistical Local Feet on the Ground – Are you a people person with transport in the
Worthing area? Able to talk to community venues about placing flyers and posters in a
whole host of locations: community venues, schools, parish councils, shops, cafes, and
libraries to raise awareness of the event.
  • Persuasive Procurement People – Are you a confident advocate who can share our message
and charity aims to secure items we need for ELLIEFEST at discount rates or for free with
support from our Procurement Professional, Tamsyn.
  • Set-up and Pack Down Day Helpers on Fri 12 and/or Sund 14 July – Seeking Fit
and physically active people who can help us load and unload. Moving kit and haybales, putting up and taking down gazebos, and signage to help us create a safe and attractive site, led by our Site and Safety Captain Steve.
  • ELLIEFEST day volunteers on Sat 13 July – Can you steward a stall or help in the café?
Maybe do a shift on the car park? Do you have a talent or a skill you can share? On-the-day help is essential to the event’s success and to give attenders of ELLIEFEST the best experience. We are looking for solution-focussed, unflappable, friendly people to represent The Ellie Thornton Foundation on the day.

If you think any of these roles might be you, or if you have other skills, you are able to offer sign up now:

ELLIEFEST 2024 will see a mix of live music, fabulous food and a host of games and crafting activities. Bounce on our castle, test your sporting skills, craft a flower crown or get your face painted. Fill your day with fun or take it easy and listen to live music whilst refreshing yourself at the bar or treat yourself to some tea and cake.

All in memory of Ellie Thornton, a girl who loved a festival.

All proceeds of the event support The Ellie Thornton Foundation.
